हल्द्वानी में खेल मंत्री रेखा आर्या ने हॉकी खिलाड़ियों का हौसला बढ़ाया। हॉकी इंडिया के 100 वर्ष पूरे होने पर उत्तराखंड हॉकी ने 13 जिलों में स्पर्धा का आयोजन किया। रेखा आर्या ने कहा कि खिलाड़ियों के लिए 18 करोड़ की लागत से हॉकी एस्ट्रोटर्फ की सुविधा दी गई है। भारत ने हॉकी में आठ ओलंपिक स्वर्ण पदक जीते हैं।
गौलापार के इंदिरा गांधी अंतरराष्ट्रीय खेल परिसर में स्थित हॉकी एस्ट्रोटर्फ में आयोजित स्पर्धा में खेल मंत्री रेखा आर्या ने खिलाड़ियों का हौसला बढ़ाया। साथ ही आधुनिक टर्फ में प्रशिक्षण लेने के लिए खिलाड़ियों को प्रेरित भी किया।
शुक्रवार को हॉकी इंडिया के 100 वर्ष पूरे होने पर उत्तराखंड हॉकी ने 13 जिलों में बालक-बालिका वर्ग की स्पर्धा का आयोजन करवाया है। खेल मंत्री रेखा आर्या ने कहा की 18 करोड़ की लागत से हाकी खिलाड़ियों के लिए हॉकी एस्ट्रोटर्फ की सुविधा दी गई है। खिलाड़ी इसका भरपूर लाभ उठाएं।
हॉकी के महासचिव नरेंद्र सिंह बाफिला ने कहा कि सात नवंबर वर्ष 1925 में भारतीय हॉकी एफआइएच (इंटरनेशनल हाकी फेडरेशन) से संबंद्ध हुई थी। इसके बाद भारत में हॉकी खेल का उदय हुआ। अब तक हॉकी के इतिहास में सबसे अधिक आठ ओलंपिक स्वर्ण, एक रजत और चार कांस्य पदक जीतकर दुनिया में लोहा मनवाया है। इस दौरान पूर्व अंतरराष्ट्रीय हॉकी खिलाड़ी हरीश भाकुनी, उप क्रीड़ाधिकारी वरुण बेलवाल आदि मौजूद रहे।
